GURUGRAM: A resident of Nihal Colony in New Palam Vihar approached police on Wednesday after a stranger allegedly sent her objectionable messages on WhatsApp and threatened to kill her over the phone. An FIR was registered at Bajghera police station on the same day.
According to police, the 30-year-old married woman received an objectionable message on WhatsApp from an unknown number on Wednesday at 11.15am. In her reply, she asked the person not to send her such messages again.

“After that, the accused started sending more of such vulgar messages to me and also, started to abuse me. When I said I would lodge a complaint with police if the messages continued, I got a call from another number on my mobile phone, and the caller, a man, threatened to kill me. I was scared and immediately told my husband about the entire sequence of events,” the woman said in her complaint, which was filed on Wednesday evening.

An FIR was registered against the unidentified caller under sections 354D (stalking), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman) of the IPC at the Bajghera police station on Wednesday itself.

“We have put the mobile numbers of the accused on surveillance. He will be arrested soon,” said inspector Ajay Kumar, SHO of Bajghera police station
