LUDHIANA: Burglars struck at a house in Shaheed

Jalandhar Bypass and decamped with cash and gold jewellery worth lakhs of rupees on Wednesday night. The Salem Tabri police have registered a case in the matter and started probe.
The complainant, Mansi Khanna, told the police that all the members of her family had slept in one room on Wednesday. When they woke up the next day, they were shocked to see the locks of the cupboards in the other rooms broken.
Khanna said that the articles in those rooms were strewn around and the thieves had made away with 50 tolas of gold jewellery and Rs 8,000 cash.
The family members suspect that the theives gained entry into the house from the the roof around midnight, said Khanna.
After Khanna informed the police, the cops rushed to the spot with a dog squad and forensic team, and carried out a recce of the house.
Investigating officer assistant sub-inspector Manjit Singh said they are scanning the CCTVs installed in the area to get clues on the identity of the burglars.
