Siddaganga seer Shivakumara Swami hospitalised, discharged later

BENGALURU: Shivakumara Swami (111), Chief Pontiff of Siddaganga Mutt, was admitted to BGS Gleneagles Global Hospitals in Kengeri early on Thursday morning but later discharged in the evening.
Initial diagnosis showed that he had a dilated liver tube on account of a mild pancreatic and liver tube blockage.

After a few hours of observation, it was decided that Swamiji can resume normal activities. Subsequently, he performed Pooja and blessed the medical team and his devotees who had gathered at the hospital.
Having expressed a desire to be back in the mutt, he was formally discharged from the hospital at 6.27 pm.  He was able to walk out of the hospital without difficulty.

Dr Ravindra B S, Chief of Medical Gastroenterology, and his team cleaned the blockages. This was carried out as an endoscopic procedure.The blockage around the stent was cleaned to reestablish proper functioning.Swami already has eight stents in his bile duct. Considering this, doctors decided to clear the blockage and did not place any additional stent.Swami withstood the procedure well.His medical status is under constant observation. He is accompanied by his personal doctors from the mutt.
