CM reiterates pledge for betterment of Tana Bhagats

Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that Tana Bhagats took part in the fight for freedom. And, the government is not doing any favour by working in their interests, rather it is their right. “The government is working to bring down their debt. The government has constituted a separate authority for the development of Tana Bhagats. This authority is working to solve their problems,” he said while addressing people after laying foundation stone of Tana Bhagat Guest house in Banohora Hehal on Thursday.

The CM said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the government will give three-room houses to the homeless Tana Bhagats. During the registration of land Tana Bhagat Development Authority will pay the amount of GST. Similarly, children of Tana Bhagat are being enrolled in the one-year course in Raksha Shakti University. The State Government will bear the expenses and hostel will also be opened on the demand of Tana Bhagat.

The CM said, “For the first time since independence, it is our government that is working for Tana Bhagats, tribal and poor. Our poor ancestors have shed blood for country's independence. Tribals unfolded Ulgulan against the British. Keeping this in mind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had directed the Union Ministers to go to the villages of freedom fighters and conduct programmes there. In this series, Home Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to Lord Birsa Munda in Ulihatu, his birth place.”

During the programme, former MLA Ganga Tana Bhagat said that no government has done so much for Tana Bhagats like the present government. Tana Bhagat Development Authority has been formed by this government. According to his promise, the Chief Minister laid the foundation for the construction of the guest house for Tana Bhagats.

The event was attended by MP Ram Tahal Chaudhary, Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal, Secretary of the Department of Revenue and Land Reforms KK Soan, Secretary of the Department of Building Construction Sunil Kumar and other officials.
