Local Employer Returns to Oxnard College Park for Annual 5K Color Run and Walk.

Reiter Affiliated Companies (RAC), a fresh multi-berry producer with headquarters in Oxnard, hosts annual Sembrando Salud 5K Color Run and Walk on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Oxnard College Park.
The Sembrando Salud 5K Color Run and Walk & Health and Wellness Fair encourages employees and their families to go outdoors and exercise in a fun and safe environment. This colorful event begins at 9:00am with a 1 mile run for children 12 years of age or younger, and will continue with a 5K walk/run for employees and their families at 9:30am.
“This is our third year hosting this event with the purpose of promoting a healthy lifestyle to our employees and their families,” said Ana Martinez, Sembrando Salud Administrator Lead. “Not only are we engaging in an enjoyable activity, but also enriching the families with local resources whose goal is to also improve the health and overall happiness of our agricultural community. I’m looking forward to seeing many smiles.”
During the Health & Wellness Fair, participants can meet organizations and community services that help families in Ventura County. Some of those organizations include: Food Forward, The Coalition, Ventura County Behavioral Health, 211, and the Consulate of Mexico.

Sembrando Salud, established by RAC in 2009, is an obesity and diabetes prevention program that helps create healthy ranch communities throughout California. The Sembrando Salud 5K was developed to help motivate agriculture workers and their families to go outdoors and exercise in a fun and safe environment.
