As usual, new free Xbox One games will be released next month as part of the Games with Gold program.
The list of new titles will include games from both Xbox One and Xbox 360, the latter available to play via Backwards Compatibility.
Microsoft have not announced their Games with Gold July 2018 lineup yet, but are expected to make the announcement soon.
But before the big news drops, it has also been revealed that Xbox One gamers will be able to trial some special titles this weekend.
In honour of its two-year anniversary, survival-horror RPG 7 Days to Die will be free to all Xbox Live Gold members playing on Xbox One from now until Monday, June 25 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
During that time, you’ll be able to download the full game and explore, craft, build, and survive until the clock runs out.
You can download 7 Days to Die by searching for the game on the Xbox One console Dashboard and will require an active subscription.
“If you’ve never tried 7 Days to Die before, now’s the perfect time to start building your own zombie-repelling fortress, but even if you played the game when it first hit consoles nearly two years ago, consider diving back in,” Scott Butterworth, Creative Communications Specialist, at Telltale Games teases.
“The team has spent the past two years adding content, improving features, and polishing tech, ultimately shaping 7 Days to Die into a far more robust experience than the one that debuted in 2016.”
And it’s not the only free game fans can try out before the new Games with Gold July collection arrives.
Killing Floor 2 is also available this weekend, complete with a brand new expansion pack.
In celebration of the recent launch of The Summer Sideshow: Treacherous Skies update, Tripwire Interactive is hosting a free weekend of action on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
From today onward, players can join in on the free weekend for Killing Floor 2, which is scheduled to end on Monday, June 25.
The new update provides Killing Floor 2 with new weapons and a new map to play, so there will even be plenty of stuff to do for lapsed players.
PlayStation Plus members can also download and play Killing Floor 2 for free via the PS4 Game Trials Program.
For those who don’t know, Games with Gold offers free Xbox games to qualifying Xbox Live Gold members.
The program provides Gold members with free games every month, worth up to $700 per year, according to Microsoft.
Games with Gold is available to all Xbox Live Gold members, which can be redeemed from the Gold widget on the Xbox One home screen.
Titles can also be found if you download the Xbox One SmartGlass app, and go to the Microsoft Store and then page right.
When you select a game, it’ll be stored in your account and ready for download when you sign in to your console.
It should also be noted that new Games with Gold titles become available on the first and the sixteenth day of every month.
As usual, Games with Gold in June will include two free Xbox One and two free Xbox 360 games to download.
