Emma Katharine Schroth-Whitney Baton Rouge, Louisiana Passed on 7 April 2018 in Baton Rouge. Born in Pittsburgh in 1968, raised in Baton Rouge. She was a brilliant, loving and giving woman. Graduate of Oberlin, Columbia University and University of Pittsburgh with an MS in Library Science, she dedicated her life to helping others with disabilities and pets. Survived by her husband, Christopher (K. C.) Whitney, her mother, Margaret Boal Schroth, her dear sister, Johanna Schroth and brother, Edward (Andrea) Schroth and her aunt, Helen Boal (Raymond) Sturgulewski and many, many others who knew and loved her. Preceded in death by her father, Richard (Dick) Schroth and beloved grandparents, Mae and Clare Schroth, Dr. Erwin S. Boal and Vivian Boal. Interment of her cremains will be at the Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 23 June and a celebration of her life with family and friends will be held afterwards. In lieu of flowers, please donate (money or time) to your local humane society or your local Autism Society.
