NOIDA: Residents of
Greater Noida will get
Ganga water from October this year as the construction of a water treatment plant at Palla village is nearing completion
Rajeev Tyagi, general manager (projects), GNIDA said that the water treatment plant can handle 210 MLD (million litres per day). “The total project cost is Rs 124.81 crore, while the operational cost for five years is Rs 21.62 crore. We hope to provide Ganga water from October end,” he said.
Once the Ganga project becomes operational, water will be brought to Greater Noida through the Masuri-Dehra Ganga canal. The water will be purified at the treatment plant in Palla village and then supplied to all the institutional and residential sectors in Greater Noida.
The authority plans to supply the water to over three lakh Greater Noida residents in the first phase. Later, it will be supplied to more people as per the Master Plan 2021.
