MTV owner Viacom Inc. will be producing a Nickelodeon-branded show to be streamed on Netflix, the company's CEO Bob Bakish told The Information in an interview published Thursday. With revenues stagnant, Viacom is seeking out new ways to make money despite some risk: Such a move may end up driving audiences to Netflix instead of Viacom's own cable networks. Bakish hopes to make more shows for other streaming services and mobile carriers through its flagship networks, which include MTV, Comedy Central and BET. "We are in a range of conversations with all of the people that are widely seen as buying content that crosses both the streaming video space as well as other areas," Mr. Bakish told The Information. Viacom shares are down 1.3% so far this year, while the S&P 500 is up 3.1%.
