Kanha sends its tiger to Satkosia

In a landmark in Odisha’s wildlife history, a male tiger was relocated from Kanha Tiger Reserve to be introduced at Satkosia Tiger Reserve on Wednesday.

BHUBANESWAR:In a landmark in Odisha’s wildlife history, a male tiger was relocated from Kanha Tiger Reserve to be introduced at Satkosia Tiger Reserve on Wednesday. The tiger will reach Satkosia during morning hours of Thursday. The Kanha TR authorities tranquilised the tiger and arranged its translocation. The tiger will be released in a fenced arena in Raigoda since a soft release is being attempted for the re-introduction. The Madhya Pradesh Government had offered three pairs of tigers to Odisha for re-introduction at Satkosia where tiger population has dwindled.
