VERNON, Texas -- The Rope /Rescue team of the Vernon Fire Department were called out Thursday afternoon when a man in an aerial bucket became trapped when a hydraulic pump in the lift failed.
Workers said the man had been cutting limbs on a tree in the 4600 block of Cottonwood Lane when he became trapped in the bucket.
He had been working cutting the limbs for about two hours when the incident happened, then remained in the bucket as fellow workers tried to get him down before calling for assistance from the fire department. Fire Department officials said he was about 60’ in the air.
The rescue team raised the ladder on the department’s aerial apparatus to reach the man.
