15 passengers injured as bus hits divider on Sion-Panvel highway

A bus, coming to Mumbai from Pune, hit a divider and careened off the Sion-Panvel highway on Thursday night. Passers-by said all the 16 passengers on the bus were injured. The accident took place at Sanpada around 11.30pm. All the injured passengers were taken to NMMC hospital at Vashi. It was not clear how serious are the injuries. The fire brigade and the police reached the spot. “The road was slippery as it had drizzled in the evening. We will take talk to the driver and passengers to know what caused the accident. Traffic was not affected,” said the police.
