FIR: Police driver moves High Court

KOCHI:Gavaskar, a police driver posted in Thiruvananthapuram, approached the High Court on Wednesday seeking to quash the criminal case registered against him for allegedly assaulting the daughter of former Battalion ADGP Sudhesh Kumar. The court will consider the case on Thursday.

Gavaskar, said he was the one who was abused and beaten with a cell phone by Snigdha, Kumar's daughter, when he took her in the police car for a morning walk on June 14. He was attacked for complaining to the ADGP against the ill-treatment Snigdha meted out to him the day before.

Gavaskar submitted, the FIR was registered against him based on a false complaint and was a counter case to exact vengeance. Saying the allegations against him were false, Gavaskar sought to quash the FIR.Gavaskar submitted while serving as Kumar's driver, he was condemned to do menial jobs by the ADGP and family.
