NOIDA: The fourth
International Yoga Day was celebrated in various Noida and
Greater Noida sectors where hundreds turned up to practice yoga.
While MLA Pankaj Singh and FONRWA president N P Singh were joined by Union railway minister Piyush Goyal early in the morning at Noida stadium, Goyal later joined Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh and others for a similar yoga session at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik stadium in Greater Noida.
In Greater Noida, a GNIDA team led by CEO Alok Tandon, ACEO K K Gupta, GM projects Rajiv Tyagi and others took part in the yoga.
“One learns the art of living through yoga. Just like the salt is an important ingredient in food, yoga is important for a healthy life. Yoga, which connects body, mind and soul, has played an important role in connecting the world. It is because of yoga that many countries are connecting with India,” said Goyal.
PSUs such as NTPC organised a yoga shivir in Dadri under instructor Chaman Singh while members of Noida police held a yoga session in Surajpur police lines. Similar sessions were also organised for officials and inmates in Luksar jail.
“The art of living can only be learnt through a healthy mind which comes from yoga practice. In the last four years, the number of places where yoga has been taught has increased,” said MLA Dhirendra Singh.
