It's a year ahead of schedule, but Kevin Huerter will be selected Thursday night in the first round of the NBA draft. It doesn't matter all that much what team takes him, because the former Shenendehowa High and University of Maryland standout will fit in anywhere. He's a 6-foot-7 guard with a high basketball IQ, who can really shoot it. Until he opened more eyes at the combines, Huerter was headed back to Maryland for his junior season. Not any longer. It's a dream come true for Huerter, with millions of dollars attached to Thursday night's selection. It doesn't get any better for Huerter and his family. Rodger Wyland is the sports director for NewsChannel 13. Listen to him weekdays from 10 a.m. to noon on WTMM (104.5 FM, "The Team").
