International Yoga Day 2018 Celebrations Swami Ramdev Kota
The fourth International Yoga Day is being celebrated on June 21st around the year. The day came into inception after United Nations General Assembly unanimously declared a day of Yoga. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested 21st June to be celebrated as International Day of Yoga while addressing UN in 2014. In 2017, PM Modi participated in the event and practiced Yoga along with 51,000 participants in Lucknow. The day was celebrated with unparalleled zeal around the world including New York, China, Ireland and Athens.
This year, the entire country is ready with its Yoga mat rolled out to celebrated International Yoga Day 2018 today. PM Modi is scheduled to be performing Yoga with 55,000 enthusiasts in Dehradun in an event organised by FRI. In Delhi, eight events are planned with the main event scheduled to take place in Rajpath.
Ahead of the Yoga day, the prime minister posted a video on his Twitter handle giving a message that yoga is a “passport” to health assurance and not just a set of exercises that keep the body fit.
“Yoga is the journey from ‘me’ to ‘we’. It promises balance, calm, helps boost concentration and gives immense strength. As we approach the #4thYogaDay, I urge people around the world to make Yoga a part of their lives (sic),” Modi had tweeted.
