Truck catches fire on Highway 40
A truck caught fire on Highway 40, near the Decarie Interchange, partially closing the eastbound lanes Thursday.
According to Aurélie Guindon, with the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the fire started around 9:50 a.m.
“There was no accident with another vehicle,” she told Global News, adding that it seems the truck was filled with earth.
“Nobody was injured.”
One lane in the eastbound direction has been reopened; the westbound lanes are unaffected.

Sabrina LauFirefighters are on-site to control the fire and determine what happened.
“We have no clue what caused the fire,” Guindon said.
“Maybe it’s mechanical.”
Guindon could not say when the highway will be reopened.
