850 students register for MBBS, BDS

As many as 850 students applied online on the first day of registration for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in eight medical colleges across the State on Wednesday.

BHUBANESWAR:As many as 850 students applied online on the first day of registration for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in eight medical colleges across the State on Wednesday.The registration process for admission to the courses will continue till June 25, said Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) chairman in-charge Manish Tripathy.

Jointly we have 1,300 MBBS and BDS seats in the medical colleges and 15 per cent of these seats i.e 167 seats belong to all India quota. So admission will be conducted for remaining 85 per cent seats i.e 1,133 seats, Tripathy said.

As per OJEE notification, students allotted rank in NEET are eligible to register themselves for admission into these seats. The list of the registered students for first phase will be published on June 26 while verification of documents will be conducted at the nodal centres between June 26 and 29. The State merit list will be announced June 30.

The results for the first round will be published July 4 and the first round for provisional admission will be held between July 5 and 9 after which the students will join in their respective institutes by July 12.
The OJEE will publish the number of vacant seats, including quota seats on July 24. The students can go for choice filling and choice locking on July 24 and 25.

The second round for allotment of seats will be done on July 26 and the provisional admission for this round is scheduled between July 27 and 30.In case of any vacancy after second phase admission, spot counselling may also be done and admission would be conducted between August 4 and 8. The classes for academic session 2018-19 will start from August 1.
