State Govt. asks officials to coordinate with Railway ministry

The state government asked its officials to coordinate with Railway ministry for time-bound implementation of projects announced by Rail minister Piyush Goel during UP Investor’s Summit held in Lucknow in February.

Major railway projects announced during the Summit were three-fold increase in production capacity of Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Rae Bareli. Coaches for metro rail and bullet train are to be produced in this factory. 

Rail ministry in technical and financial assistance of Japan government is implementing the first bullet train project between Ahmedabad and Mumbai at an estimated cost of Rs one lakh crore.

Another important rail project in UP is the `Rail Refurbishment Factory at Jhansi for which process of acquisition of 120 acres of land was in progress. 

Electric Locomotive maintenance shed is also being constructed in Gorakhpur, tenders for which have been finalized and the first phase of is targeted to be completed by the end of December. 

The work on Rail Auxiliary / Ancillary Park in Fatehpur has been completed and an exhibition of rail goods and equipment is proposed to be organised in July.

Industries minister Satish Mahana on Tuesday, reviewed the progress of projects being implemented by Rail ministry in the state. The meeting also discussed conversion of meter gauge Mailani- Sitapur line to broad gauge. 

The state government suggested to Rail officials to take up the project after consulting state Tourism department.  Rail officials from RCF Rae Bareli, North Central Railway (NCR), North Eastern Railway (NER) also participated in the meeting.
