Reliance Energy to ensure power supply during MMRDA outage

will take every possible step to ensure that power supply to its consumers in the city suburbs is not disrupted due to the planned outage by the Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) early on June 24, the company said on Thursday.

Through a press release on Wednesday, the MMRDA had notified about the planned outage to be carried out on Sunday morning between 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. in for erecting a U girder on highway.

It said the areas that would be affected by the outage are K-West, P-South, P-North, R-South, R-Central and H-West wards covering western areas of Vile Parle, Juhu, Andheri, Versova, Jogeshwari, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivli and Charkop.

Reliance Energy, noting it has its customers in these areas, said: "We will take every possible step to ensure that consumers are not inconvenienced during the planned transmission line work. We have a robust utilising which, we shall be rerouting the power through to reach our esteemed consumers."

A noted that power supply had earlier been affected in many suburban areas on March 25 owing to work on raising of the height of high tension wires in the Kandivli area for the construction of a Metro corridor.

"However, Reliance Energy had then also successfully rerouted power ensuring that its customers enjoyed continuous electricity supply," the said.
