Woman, son slit throat of man who harassed her daughter in Delhi’s Prem Nagar

The woman, who allegedly sells illicit liquor, throws the man near a railway track after attacking her. The injured has been admitted to hospital.

A 51-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday from outer Delhi’s Prem Nagar for slitting the throat of a man who harassed her daughter. The man, who was thrown near a railway track after the attack, survived.

The woman, who allegedly sells illicit liquor, and her two associates were arrested, her son is absconding, the police said.

The suspects were identified as Beena alias Jully (51), who runs a business of illicit liquor, Lal Bahadur (20) and Amit (21), both domestic helps, and Beena’s son Tarun (21), who is absconding. All four hail from Kanchan Pur district in Nepal.

According to senior police officers, the Aman Vihar police on Monday received a call that a person with cuts on his throat was lying near Sukhi Nehar in Prem Nagar.

The injured was found lying unconscious near a railway track and was shifted to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital. “The injured was identified as Bhagwan Singh, a native of Aligarh. When he gained consciousness, the injured man said he was attacked by a woman named Beena and her son Tarun. Within 48 hours, our team arrested Bahadur, Beena and Amit, while her son is absconding,” additional deputy commissioner of police (outer), Rajendra Singh Sagar, said.
