MARGAO: Tuesday saw waterlogging at various places in South Goa causing severe hardships to citizens.
A common sight across villages and towns in South Goa was of choked drains, overflowing waste water, litter on streets from uncleared garbage bins. This exposed claims of civic bodies having carried out pre-monsoon maintenance works.

Personnel of the fire and emergency services in Margao attended to a large number of calls, mostly to clear fallen tree branches. On Wednesday, a tree fell across the road at Aquem, Margao, disrupting traffic before a fire brigade cleared the site.

A mango tree that collapsed at Cuncolim also stalled traffic for a short while. Another mango tree was uprooted at Colva leading to disruption of traffic. No casualties were reported.

At Comba, the railway subway was inundated making the road unusable for traffic. Locals demanded that PWD authorities provide a permanent solution to prevent waterlogging of the subway.
