Dollar General creating 7,000 jobs to execute growth plan

Dollar General Corp. said Thursday that it will create about 7,000 new jobs to execute its previously announced fiscal 2018 growth plan. Positions include retail district managers and distribution center supervisors. The roles span 44 states. Dollar General has nearly 130,000 employees. Dollar General shares are up 36.6% over the past 12 months, outpacing the S&P 500 index which is up 13.6% for the period.
