CBI probe sought into Jesna's disappearance

CBI inquiry has been sought into the mysterious disappearance of Jesna Maria James, the 22-year-old BCom student who went missing earlier this year.

KOCHI:CBI inquiry has been sought into the mysterious disappearance of Jesna Maria James, the 22-year-old BCom student who went missing earlier this year.Jais John James, the brother of Jesna, and K M Abhijith, the president of Kerala Students' Union, have filed a petition before the High Court seeking the CBI probe.

They submitted though a special investigation team was constituted to probe her disappearance, they could not make any headway in tracing her.A habeas corpus petition seeking a directive to police to produce her before the court is pending. The state government did not undertake earnest efforts to trace her, said the petitioners.

Hailing from Vechoochira near Ranni, Jesna was a student at St Dominic’s College, Kanjirappally.
She was reported missing on March 22 after she left her home to go to her aunt’s house at Punchavayal, near Mundakayam.
