Film-maker Nagathihalli Chandrashekar took over as the new chairperson of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy (KCA) on Thursday and said that top on his agenda was taking good cinema beyond Bengaluru.
The post was vacant since S.V. Rajendra Singh Babu demitted office in February 2018. After assuming the office, Mr. Chandrashekar said, “My focus will be on reaching excellence of cinema to young minds. The KCA will focus more on academic activities rather than commercial activities, as the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce is there to meet the commercial needs.”
According to him, his idea is to rejuvenate film society and film club movements in various parts of the State, especially in rural parts.
