Rs 65 L worth goods seized from Bajaj godown

Electronic goods worth `65 lakhs from Bajaj electronics were seized and three cases filed against the firm by the Telangana Legal Metrology department officials on Wednesday.

HYDERABAD: Electronic goods worth `65 lakhs from Bajaj electronics were seized and three cases filed against the firm by the Telangana Legal Metrology department officials on Wednesday, following several complaints from customers. Based on the complaints, the department officials raided a Bajaj electronics godown at Sanathnagar.

The electronic firm was found to be in violation of different MRPs, wrong depiction of weights and measurements.

During last one month alone the department has conducted raids on Multiplexes, Shopping Malls, Seeds, Fertiliser companies and have registered more than 600 cases and seized
goods worth more than `12 crore.

To help the public reach out with consumer-related complaints, the Telangana State Civil Supplies Department has even linked their Consumer Information and Redressal Centre with the Legal Metrology department to help the public reach out with complaints through social media platforms.

The public can now contact the Consumer Dispute and Redressal Centre under the department to register their grievances over Twitter and Facebook.

Those complaints that come under the domain of the Legal Metrology department will be diverted to the officials concerned.
