Charles the emu is still roaming the fields and forests of eastern Rensselaer County.

The big bird was spotted Wednesday, the day after he slip through an open gate at the Berkshire Bird Paradise in Grafton.

The bird sanctuary updated its Facebook late Wednesday, saying the flightless bird that flew the coop was last seen on Josh Pond Road.

Peter Dubacher, who runs the sanctuary, says his daughter Elizabeth and others are searching for the bird and suspect he'll be returned to the facility.
