ITV This Morning: Holly Willoughby hits back at Lizzie Cundy in Lord Alan Sugar debate
THIS MORNING spoke about Lord Alan Sugar’s controversial tweet which he posted yesterday with guests Dawn Butler MP and Lizzie Cundy.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield spoke about Lord Alan Sugar’s tweets which were posted yesterday in today's This Morning.
The pair became embroiled in a heated debate over whether Lord Sugar ought to lose his job over the comments.
Holly asked the guests why he ought to see consequences for his actions.
Dawn jumped straight in: “Because it was extremely offensive.
“Senegal beat Poland and they’re a professional football team - why did he feel empowered enough to send a tweet like that?
“Why try and delegate the football team of black men?
“He runs The Apprentice - could you imagine if you were a black man going on it?”
She also added that his following apology was “arrogant”.
Dawn also doubled down on the comment that “the joke wasn’t funny. Three’s nothing funny in it.”
Lizzie agreed the joke wasn’t funny and shouldn’t have been posted, however she didn’t think Lord Sugar should lose his job.

She said: “I agree with you it was a wrong tweet - a bad tweet. It was misjudged, and to him it was a bad joke.
“That said: he is many things but he is not a racist. He did delete the tweet and did apologise.”
But Holly wouldn’t have it, as she jumped in and exclaimed: “He should know better, shouldn’t he? He should think better!”
Lizzie continued: “Of course he should and I was totally shocked about it.
“I agree with you totally - he shouldn’t lose his job.”
