Arsenal transfer news: Stewart Robson SLAMS club over Jack Wilshere treatment
JACK WILSHERE was not looked after well enough by Arsenal, claims former Gunners midfielder Stewart Robson.
Wilshere will leave Arsenal at the end of his contract after rejecting a new deal at the club.
The midfielder has struggled to nail down a starting spot after a string of long-term injuries.
But Robson believes the club were not beneficial to Wilshere’s development, both medically and on the pitch.
“There’s talk of West Ham, there’s talk of Southampton,” he said of Wilshere’s next club on ESPN FC.

I don’t think he looked after himself particularly well, I don’t think the club looked after him particularly well
“It’s a shame because he was a very, very good player.
“He’s had lots of injuries, I don’t think he looked after himself particularly well, I don’t think the club looked after him particularly well.
“I know that they didn’t look after him particularly well, both on the medical side and in terms of teaching him the game.
“When he played for England under (Roy) Hodgson and he played as the holding midfield player, he looked a far better player than he ever did when he was playing for Arsenal because he was given a role and he was disciplined.

“He was a good footballer, he’s got great talent but he doesn’t read the game.
"He doesn’t understand how to defend and he doesn’t make the right decisions.
“It’s the best thing for him to get away.”
