Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu opened the eatern leg of Pakasam barrage to allow Krishna water to flow towards the Krishna delta downstream area.

Ahead of the fourth Yoga Day celebrations on June 21, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said it makes people better individuals in thought, action, knowledge and devotion.

He also said that yoga is not just a set of exercises that keeps the body fit, it is a “passport” to health assurance and a key to fitness and wellness.

Monsoon rains in the Palakkad district has gained momentum with heavy downpour being reported in many parts of the district. The South West monsoon in full swing in Kerala in last few weeks. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted "heavy to very heavy rain" coming days The Met Centre here has warned of strong winds reaching 40-50 km per hour across the Kerala coast and warned fishers to be cautious when venturing out into the sea.

Senegal became the first African team to win a match at the 2018 World Cup on Tuesday when they beat Poland 2-1, helped by an own goal from a Brazilian-born Polish defender and a nightmare moment for goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.
