Ron DeSantis is no longer Ron DeSantis, R-Palm Coast. And no, he's not changed political parties.

The congressman sold his Palm Coast home last month, less than two years after buying it, property records show. Made some money, too.

DeSantis had moved into a condominium near Marineland for a few months in 2016 after his 6th District boundaries shifted south, even though members of Congress are not required to live within the district they serve. Then, in October 2016, right before he was re-elected to a third consecutive term, he bought a 1,500-square-foot home in Lakeside by the Sea, a community in unincorporated Flagler County.

DeSantis and his burgeoning family — his wife, Casey, has had two children in the past two years — retained their 1,700-square-foot home in Ponte Vedra Beach as well, but placed the homestead exemption on the Palm Coast home.

Property records show he bought that house, at 12 San Pablo Court, for $242,000. He sold it for $275,000 on May 15.

DeSantis is hoping at least one more move — to Tallahassee — is in the cards.

Contacts in DeSantis' congressional and campaign offices did not respond to a request for comment.
