is expected to launch its all-new Gear S4 smartwatches later this year with them likely to include improved specs and faster performance.

Like the current Gear S3, two models could be unveiled with a Classic and Frontier version both rumoured.

Now it seems we’re one step closer to finding out when these devices will be shown to the world with the dock, that will power the watch, getting certification in South Korea.

According to SamMobile, the Korean Radio Research Agency has just certified a wireless charger for the S4.

The model number of this battery booster has been revealed as EP-YO805 which corresponds to the number of the new watch - SM-R805.

There’s no more information included in the report, and the listing didn’t include any images of the charger, but this certification could mean a launch is coming soon.

Many are expecting Samsung to unveil its latest wearable alongside the new Galaxy Note 9 which is rumoured to be arriving as soon as August 9.

However, Samsung always announces new devices at the IFA technology show which takes place at the end of August so that would also make sense as a launch date.

Although details of an announcement and features are still unclear there's plenty of rumours and speculation about what may be included on this new wearable.

One of the biggest changes is the possibility that Samsung will ditch its Tizen operating system in favour of Google's watch OS.

Hugely improved health and sleep tracking capabilities plus the ability to check blood pressure may also feature.

And there's a strong suggestion that a new colour.

The current Gear S3 includes a 380mAh battery but this looks set to be increased to 470mAh on the next generation wearable.

If true, it could mean users get much longer life out of a single charge.

With Samsung not updating its Gear flagship in almost two years, this new device could see some big new feature.

And with Apple also expected to reveal a new Watch this year it could be an exciting few months ahead for fans of wearable technology.
