Fatal wreck in Wichita claims local man

David Allen Cook, 41, of El Dorado, has been identified by the Kansas Highway Patrol as the victim in a motorcycle crash near I-235 and W. MacArthur Rd. in Wichita.  The fatal crash occurred shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
Witnesses claimed a man was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed northbound on I-235, and  lost control of the vehicle, ran off the road, down an embankment, and struck a railroad track.  
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The Highway Patrol report indicated that Cook was not wearing a helmet.
