The Centre on Wedneday gave B. Sriram, one of the managing directors of State Bank of India, the additional charge of officiating as MD and chief executive officer of IDBI Bank for an interim three-month period.
IDBI Bank’s current MD & CEO M.K. Jain has been appointed as RBI deputy governor. Mr. Jain is expected to take charge in a day or two. Mr. Sriram was appointed as MD in SBI in July 2014. He had been MD of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, and is due for retirement in September.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved Mr. Sriram’s appointment in IDBI Bank for a period of three months with effect from the date Mr. Jain demits office.
