The Tri-City ValleyCats dipped a game under the .500 mark following a 7-1 loss to the host Aberdeen IronBirds on Tuesday in a New York-Penn League baseball contest in Aberdeen, Md.
Third baseman Willy Yahn was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and first baseman J.C. Escarra was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead Aberdeen, which climbed to 2-3 on the young season.
Yahn put the IronBirds in front in the second inning with a two-run double to right field to bring home Robert Neustrom and Alexis Torres. Aberdeen added two more runs in the third when Escarra ripped a two-run double of his own to make it 4-0.
