HIRIYUR (CHITRADURGA): At least five passengers from
Tamil Nadu were killed on the spot as an SUV rammed into a parked lorry, on Wednesday morning at Javanagondanahalli of Hiriyur near Chitradurga in Karnataka.
Toyota Qualis was heading from Goa to Tamil Nadu. While four persons - Saddam Hussain (22), Saddam (21), Touseef Ahmed (24) and Shahrukh (20) - were killed on the spot, Asif (21) died in the Chitradurga hospital.
Three more persons were injured one of whose condition was said to be serious.
All the passengers in the car were from Ambur town of Vellur district in Tamil Nadu.
Hiriyur Rural police have registered the case.
