Sena slams ‘indecisive’ BJP

Paying backhanded compliment to the ruling BJP for its decision to withdraw its support to the PDP-led Government in Jammu & Kashmir,  Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday wondered as to why did it take its senior ruling alliance partner three-long years to realise that the Mehbooba Mufti Government was “incapable” of handling the situation in the Valley.

Addressing his party workers at the Sena’s 52nd formation day function at the Mumbai Exhibition Centre at Goregaon in North Mumbai, Uddhav said: “How come that the BJP did not realise for three-long years that the Mehbooba Mufti Government was incapable of handling the situation in Jammu and Kashmir?  I congratulate the BJP for its decision to withdraw its support to the J & K Government. I dare the BJP to take its initiative ahead and crush Pakistan in the same manner”.

Slamming the Modi Government’s decision to impose “unilateral ceasefire” during the month of Ramzan in Jammu and Kashmir, Uddhav said: “The ceasefire did not serve any purpose. In fact, ceasefire contributed to the spurt in terror acts. During the ceasefire period, many innocent people were killed. Similarly, many soldiers sacrificed their lives.  Terrorism has no religion.  That being the case, why did the ruling BJP announce ceasefire during Ramzan?”.

With his party still firm on going it alone in the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, Uddhav expressed confidence that his party would overcome all challenges posed by its rivals and capture power in the state “for the sake of people”.

Addressing his party workers at the Sena’s 52nd formation day function at the Mumbai Exhibition centre here, Uddhav said: “We shall overcome all challenges coming our way and install our Chief Minister in the state. I am not for unfurling the saffron flag merely for the lust for power. I don’t want install any Chief Minister who has lust for power. I need for the sake of power”.

Maintaining that the Sena was prepared to take any kind of opposition in the polls, Uddhav said: “Electoral victories never made us arrogant. Nor did defeats unsettle us. On the contrary, we have faced many challenges in the past. We have learnt to face all kinds of challenges. This time around, we shall blunt all kinds of challenges and capture in the state. For the purpose, I need the full cooperation of all the Shiv Sainiks”. “Before unfurling saffron flag in the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls, I appeal to you to register saffron colour in the hearts and minds of the people,”  Uddhav told his party workers who had come to the function from various parts of the state.

Announcing the Sena’s plan to launch a campaign to counter the BJP’s  “Sampark Se Samarthan”, the Sena president said: “I look forward to go in for direct enrolment of  members for the party. I do not want membership enrollment on the basis of missed calls, as it happens in the case of the BJP. I also do not approve of the “Sampark Se Samarthan” programme launched by the BJP. Let’s launch a Rs search for truth” campaign to counter the “Sampark Se Samarthan” programme and expose truth behind claims of achievements made by the BJP”.

Alluding to news reports about the sighting of a round “Unidentified Flying Object” hovering over the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence on New Delhi’s Lok Kalyan Marg on June 7 briefly, Uddhav said: “When does the Prime Minister live in his New Delhi residence?. He has completed touring all the counties across the globe. He will go on a tour of other planets.  He has completed four years in office uttering lies to the people. Even if he were to other planets, he would lie there as well. It is nothing surprising because that Modi ensured the BJP’s victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls through lies”.
