Yashwanth Kumar embarks on a 3,200-km journey

C. Yashwanth Kumar has embarked on a bicycle yatra from Tirupati to Srikakulam and back, with the motto of “Save the coastal line”.

Yashwanth, who is studying B. Com (Computers) at Sree Vidyanikethan Degree College, has undertaken several rides for social causes in the past and is a “solo rider” for this event, which involves a whopping 3,200 km touching the State’s two “tips”.

Col. Balaji, NCC Commanding Officer, flagged off the ride near NTR Circle on Wednesday, in the presence of the Principal K.R. Maruthi. The idea is to spread awareness in the mainland on the long coastline, considered a pride even by the State government, and the need to protect its pristine nature.

The ride reaches Srikakulam via Tada, Nellore, Ongole, Chirala, Machilipatnam, Kakinada and Visakhapatnam, while in the return direction, will pass through Ichapuram, Sambavaram, Rajamahendravaram, Eluru, Vijayawada, Guntur, Kurnool and Anantapur.
