Accusing the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP of ignoring the problems plaguing the Capital, the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday passed a resolution condemning the “air-conditioned dharna politics” of the two parties.
Referring to the sit-ins, one staged by CM Arvind Kejriwal and three Ministers inside Raj Niwas and the other by BJP leaders outside the Chief Minister’s Office since last week, the Delhi Congress resolution condemned the protests at a time Delhi was facing hiked pollution levels and water shortage.
Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said Mr. Kejriwal was trying to “find an escape route” after failing to deliver on his promises. The Congress resolution appealed to both the BJP and the AAP to end the tussle as it had affected Delhi since 2015, when the AAP government came to power.
