A father and his son drowned in B.K. Halli lake in Bagalur limits on Monday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Jithendra Sharma, 38, and his eight-year-old son Lavkush. The incident took place around 6 p.m. on Monday when the father and the son had gone on an outing. They got into the lake and very soon, the father noticed that the boy was drowning.
He swam closer to him and tried to pull him up. However, he wasn’t successful and both of them drowned, police said.
Their bodies were retrieved from the lake on Tuesday.
Sharma, a carpenter by profession, is survived by his wife and two children. The family is from Uttar Pradesh. They had migrated to Bengaluru about two years ago.
