PICS: Suzuki's next-generation Jimny - the most hardcore, compact 4x4 yet headed for SA

Suzuki has revealed the first images and information of its next-generation Jimny which will be unveiled globally during the next few months.

No performance or specifications are available yet but what we do know is that it will feature a ladder frame chassis, 3-link rigid axle suspension and a part time 4WD with low range transfer gear.

According to Suzuki South Africa, the Jimny will be available to consumers provisionally from November.

Suzuki says there will be five single-tone boy colours available, and also three two-tone options.

The automaker says: "The Jimny has been loved by customers around the world since the birth of its first model in 1970.

"The new Jimny carries on the heritage of a small, lightweight authentic off-roader and is a masterpiece of Suzuki 4WD technology."

Up until March 2018, sales figures for the much-loved little car stood on 2.85-million units in 194 countries and regions.
