BMW unveiled its latest grand tourer, the M850i xDrive, and announced the V8-powered model will arrived in South Africa in 2019.
While overseas markets will receive a diesel-powered model, badged 840d xDrive, Mzansi will get petrol power exclusively. Expect an M8 model to follow.
BMW claim the brand new 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine produces 390kW and a mammoth 750Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels, while the two door sportscar uses an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
According to the automaker the xDrive system is biased to the rear wheels, there's an M differential lock on the rear.
