FIFA World Cup: Day six, live scores, results, highlights

It's in this time for Japan!!

73rd minute: Yuya Osako finally has his goal! After a nice move saw the striker lay a pass off for Hiroki Sakai, whose close range shot was blocked for a corner, the set piece was swung in by the substitue Honda and met inside the six yard box by the big striker.

His glancing effort is across Ospina, and off the far post before crossing the line. Lovely finish and the Samurai Blue are back in front!

A change for both teams now.

70th minute: Japan use their first substitute  as Keisuke Honda, who has scored for Japan three times at World Cups comes on, to replace Shinji Kagawa, who opened today's scoring from the penalty spot.

Colombia use their third as Carlos Bacca comes on for Jose Izquierdo - a winger off for a striker.

Japan really on top now

65 minute:th A header goes just wide from a set piece before Inui's shot is blocked, and then a cross is blocked for a corner, which comes to nothing.

Not sure if James has touched the ball since he came on the field, but that change so far has not really changed anything. Japan still pressing, Colombia right on the back foot.

And here comes James Rodriguez!!

59th minute: Quintero makes way after scoring the equaliser, and James will get just over half an hour to show how fit he is.

Before that, Ospina made another smart save - diving full length to his left to save Takashi Inui's effort.

Lovely save from Ospina!

53rd minute: Osako turns away from Davinson Sanchez with ease, and then drills a finish with his left foot from close range - but with the angle closing down, the keeper knows where the shot is going and he gets down well to turn it away for a corner.

We're told that James Rodriguez warmed up with the rest of the Colombian substitutes during the break, so we may yet see a 25-30 minute cameo from the Bayern Munich star who turned this tournament on its head four years ago.

Japan start brightly, but nothing to show for it

50th minute: A dangerous corner is swung in towards Yoshida, who controls it but then loses possession before he can turn and shoot.

The majority of the game being played in the Colombian half now, but the Japanese haven't really carved out a clear cut chance since the early minutes of the first half.

From Dom Bossi: Trent Sainsbury attracting the big names of Europe

Thirty-three minutes keeping the likes of Antoine Griezmann quiet was all one European club needed to see of Trent Sainsbury before making an offer to sign the Socceroos defender.

Half-time was still off in the distance when the phone of Sainsbury's agent started ringing, with the first of five approaches for his client arriving during Australia's first-round World Cup match against France.

Half Time: Japan 1, Colombia 1

Not sure how we only got one minute of added time given the penalty and red card alone took like two and a half minutes, but either way, that's the half.

Japan retreated back into their shells as the period dragged on, and would have been better served to just keep on attacking - instead, the lead has been squandered after a brilliant free kick from Juan Quintero, who rolled the ball under the wall cleverly.

That was the fourth free kick of the tournament already, eclipsing the three we saw in 2014.

A moment of genius and Colombia are level!

38th minute: What a piece of brilliance from Quintero - Falcao is cut down 20 metres out, just to the right of the centre of the box...and from the set piece, Juan Quintero waits for the wall to jump and rolls it underneath!

Kawashima gets across and gets a hand to it, but the ball clearly crossed the line and Colombia, without their best player and with one fewer man on the field, are level!

So now Colombia do make a change

30th minute: Winger Juan Cuadrado is coming off, with Wilmar Barrios on. He'll drop deeper and free Quintero up to push forward again.

Japan keeping the ball and pressing with intent - nearly opening them up down the left wing a couple of times.
