DISCUSSION President pro-tem Rod McKenney and Councilwoman Hazel Bennett are organizing a presentation with the Stark County Community Action Agency for a work development program. The program provides information and education for those seeking employment. Plans are to hold the presentation in August at the fire station.

Approved $333 for updated first aid equipment to be placed in all village owned buildings.
Approved $1,282 for fire department expenses.
Passed a resolution approving a contract with the Stark County Health Department for mosquito spraying.
Agreed to hold a festival committee meeting to discuss sponsoring a fall festival in 2019.
Learned part-time police officer Matt King has completed officer training school.
Agreed to award a first-place trophy and ribbons to children who decorate their bicycles to ride in the firefighters parade on July 21. Councilwoman Hazel Bennett is encouraging the children to participate.
Held a 50-minute closed-door session to discuss police personnel. No action was taken following the executive session.

The annual firefighters chicken barbecue and parade will be held at 4 p.m. July 21 at the fire station. The parade will line up on West Main and march down Main Street. A poker run and a car show will be held at 4:30 p.m., a cornhole tournament is set for 6 p.m., and a merchant board at 10 p.m. The band 77 South will provide entertainment.
The annual garage/yard sales will run Aug. 24-26.
