Victor Wilson, 28, of Fort Myers, is going back to prison, this time for life, on attempted second degree murder charges for shooting at a cabbie in 2016.

Wilson was also sentenced to separate 30-year terms for attempted robbery with a firearm and for shooting at or into an occupied vehicle stemming from the same incident.

The victim was stopped at the intersection of Carrell Road and Broadway in Fort Myers in December 2016 when Wilson walked up to the cab and said he wanted to hire the driver.

The cab driver refused because he had another customer waiting for him. Wilson walked a few feet away, then turned and approached the car again, this time pointing a pistol at the victim’s head and demanded that he give him all his money.

The driver sped off and Wilson fired at the cab, hitting it four times. One of the bullets narrowly missed the driver.

Wilson was found shortly after within a few blocks of the incident after the victim called 911.

Wilson previously served time in federal prison for conspiracy to commit armed bank robbery in 2011.
