UP to start acquiring land for Defence Corridor project

The UP Government set in motion the process for acquisition of land for the ambitious Defence Corridor project in Bundelkhand, which is to be set up with an estimated investment of Rs 20,000 crore. 

The Defence Corridor project was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the two -day Rs UP Investors Summit’ held in Lucknow on February 21-22.

Industries minister Satish Mahana said in Lucknow on Monday that consultant for supervising land acquisition for the project has been appointed. He said that the process of allotment of land to investors and entrepreneurs will be taken up after required land was acquired.

The minister was presiding over a meeting to review the progress in the Defence Corridor projectin Lucknow on Monday.

“Industries department will shortly organize an exhibition in Kanpur where 240 products will be displayed. The event will provide a forum to buyers and sellers,’’he said.
