Aditya Thackeray advocates Shiv Sena's Go-Solo policy

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena heir apparent and Yuva Sena Chief Aditya Thackeray on Tuesday advocated the "Go-Solo" policy adopted by the party as he inaugurated a day-long conclave on the occasion of 52nd foundation day of the party.

"We always had best of MP and MLAs. But, we never tested our own strength. Six months back on the birth day of our founder Balasaheb Thackeray, we all have resolved to contest all elections on our own. Henceforth we shall follow that and win. Palghar has shown us the way. Let us now prepare ourselves to test our true strength," junior Thackeray said as he appealed party workers to be prepared for elections as they would be announced any time soon.

"Keeping the best interests of the state in mind we always took others with us and in the process never realized our own strength," Aditya said while analyzing why party couldn't test its own strength in electoral ring over past 50 years.

He also appealed party workers to help spread the party to other parts of the country. "We should not confine ourselves only to Maharashtra. We should spread the party to other states also," said the Thackeray scion and said, "I take it upon myself to take the party to other states."

"We are a party of young people. Let us start our winning spree with Rajasthan," he appealed party workers while setting the immediate target of winning the Rajasthan assembly elections. Senior Shiv Sena leader and former Lok Sabha speaker Manohar Joshi who also spoke on the occasion appealed party workers to introspect.

"While we are celebrating the 52nd foundation day we need to introspect why we couldn't come to power on our own in Maharashtra," Joshi said. "There are several regional parties which were formed much after the Shiv Sena but rose to rule the state for several years. At conclave like these we must also ponder over issues like these," said the octogenarian leader. Joshi also pointed out that the even while celebrating the 52nd foundation day the party is yet to reach every town and village in Maharashtra.

"It pains when I realize places in Maharashtra where Shiv Sena has not reached. We need to work hard like the workers in Mumbai who have made the party indispensable for the city," Joshi added.Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took to micro blogging site twitter to greet the alliance partner in his government on the occasion.
