A three-year-old nearly suffocated to death after being left alone in his family's car in Dubai for four hours.
The parents had been visiting the father's sister.
Each thought the child was with the other parent, according to Al Bayan.
After four hours, the mother noticed her child wasn't in the area and wasn't playing with the other children.
The 33-year-old father immediately called the ambulance and took the dehydrated child to the hospital.
He was admitted to the intensive care unit for 15 days.
According to the medical report, the child suffered from sunstroke and muscular degeneration.
The father was referred to the court on a misdemeanor charge of negligence, as the law refers to any wrong action which harms another person is a punishable offense.
The courts ruled that there was no intention to harm the child. As their son made a full recovery, no lasting harm was done and he was cleared of all charges.
