Clare Parks and Recreation along with the Clare Fire Department are taking registrations has begun for the Junior Firefighter’s Academy.

Participants will learn fire safety and prevention through hands-on activities and demonstrations.

Volunteers from the fire department will assist participants in trying on fire equipment.

Older-aged participants have the opportunity to do hands-on water pumping along with learning search and rescue techniques.

The fee for the academy is $10 and it includes an award certificate, a T-shirt, and lunch.

Pre-registration and pre-payment is required for the program and should be made at Clare City Hall by July 1.

There are three ways to register; walk in during office hours, utilize the after-hours drop box, or send payment and activity registration form by mail.

The forms are available at City Hall or online at www.cityofclare.org.

Parent volunteers may be needed for the event.
