REAL MADRID star Toni Kroos is wanted by Manchester United and Manchester City - but both clubs have reportedly used the German to enquire about Marco Asensio.

Real Madrid star Kroos is currently on international duty with Germany, struggling in their shock 1-0 World Cup defeat to Mexico last night.
The player has been tipped to join Manchester United and Manchester City in recent times, with both clubs keen for more in the middle of the park.
United are on the verge of signing Fred but Jose Mourinho wants more stardust in order to stop City winning the title next term.
City, meanwhile, are prioritising Napoli’s Jorginho but Kroos is also in their sights.
But Diario Gol say that, while both clubs are interested, they are also eager to land Real Madrid superstar Marco Asensio.
Asensio, like Kroos, is at the World Cup.
The forward impressed for Real Madrid last term, shining at the start and end of the campaign.
However, despite Zinedine Zidane leaving, he still faces a fight to get into the team.
Gareth Bale looks increasingly likely to stay following Julen Lopetegui’s appointment as manager.
And, if Cristiano Ronaldo also stays put, that would mean Asensio settling for a place in the bench.
The 22-year-old is one of Spain’s greatest hopes for the future.
He registered six goals and six assists from 32 La Liga games last term.

But Diario Gol say that, while Kroos is interested in City’s offer, Asensio is yet to make a decision.
Meanwhile, speaking last month, the forward’s agent revealed Real had snubbed two £130million offers for the star.
“Madrid have received two offers for Marco Asensio, up to €150m (£131m), but the club rejected them,” he told Cadena SER.
“He has an extraordinary future.
“You can imagine that they come from England because they can afford it without any problems. They could even raise it.”
